I just listened to "Won't Get Fooled Again", to me the greatest song past The Who. But I don't know which member of The Who played that archetype organ/synthesizer intermission. I assume it was Townshend who gave the scream heard 'circular the world, merely who was on organ/synth for that session? And wouldn't it have been peachy to sit in on the rehearsals?

Roger recorded the scream every bit function of the vocals at Mick Jagger'south house. I think the synth parts are actually Pete's guitar recorded through an ARP 2600 synthesizer.

Roger recorded the scream as part of the vocals at Mick Jagger's business firm. I think the synth parts are actually Pete'south guitar recorded through an ARP 2600 synthesizer.

Yes, of grade it was Daltrey with the scream.

Some disagreement nearly whether it was guitar/ARP or a Lowry organ fed through a different synth, but in whatever event, most seem to agree that it was Pete who played on the recorded track. Pete gifted an ARP 2600 to Joe Walsh, which prompted Walsh to give Pete the Gretsch he used on Who'due south Next, including Won't Get Fooled again. Office of me wants to believe that the synth part is that Gretsch played through an ARP.

Not sure but that Gretsch is all over the Who'south Next album.

Really tired optics aren't waking upwardly and I see a thread called Won't get fooled again, organ bank. I was all over opening this thread then realized my mistake. Sad wasn't equally heady as I idea! But I'm certainly glad you're doing ok! Having watched the Meaning of Life the other 24-hour interval and my sleepy brain made for some wild thoughts!

I just watched a Classic Albums show on AXSTV yesterday on Who's Side by side. Townsend with an organ through a synth. The keyboard work was quite simple. Getting the synth the way he wanted was tough and a masterpiece. One of the problems they had live was a lot of the stuff they did in the studio (synth, violin etc) had to be done with tape live. Plain the tape machine didn't always work right dorsum then leading to some disasters on stage.

Townshend, Moon and Daltrey in that early live performance are amazing. Those jumps! Fifty-fifty at 25 or 26 that took a huge amount of energy and athleticism. Thanks for posting those, Glen.

Did you detect the guest guitarist in the last one, the Rockpalast testify, David Gilmour? I found the dvd of that concert in my library it was a great show.

Some other of my favorites from Pete with guest drummer Phil Collins, deplorable for the off topic tangent.

Besides, some explanations on this page, only I can't vouch for their authority.
